48-ΩΡΕΣ ΚΥΠΡΟΣ

Μεγάλη
επιτυχία είχε το 9ο φιλανθρωπικό ράλλυ κλασικού αυτοκινήτου 48
ΩΡΕΣ Κύπρος που πραγματοποιήθηκε το τριήμερο 8-10 Απριλίου.
Το ράλλυ
πρωτο-οργανώθηκε πριν 9 χρόνια από τον Όμιλο Αυτοκινήτου Μερσεντές και
τέθηκε υπό την αιγίδα της Ομοσπονδίας Κλασικού Αυτοκινήτου Κύπρου 2 χρόνια
μετά. Συνδιοργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο την άνοιξη με την Τράπεζα Κύπρου για την
ενίσχυση του ταμείου του Αντικαρκινικού Συνδέσμου Κύπρου.
Την εκκίνηση
τέλεσε ο Δήμαρχος Στροβόλου κ. Σάββας Ηλιοφώτου από τα κεντρικά γραφεία
της Τράπεζας Κύπρου στη Λευκωσία τη Παρασκευή 8 Απριλίου στις 3.30 το
απόγευμα. 60 πληρώματα ξεκίνησαν για το πρώτο σκέλος της διαδρομής με
προορισμό τον Πρωταρά όπου και διανυκτέρευσαν.
Η διαδρομή
της Κυριακής είχε τον πρώτο σταθμό στη Λάρνακα κατά τις 11.00 το πρωί για
ένα καφέ ενώ το μεσημέρι τους φιλοξένησε ο κοινοτάρχης του Κολοσσίου κοντά
στο ομώνυμο Κάστρο. Το απόγευμα της ιδίας ημέρας τα 60 ωραιότατα
αυτοκίνητα στάθμευαν στο λιμανάκι της Πάφου, όπου πλήθος κόσμου είχε
συγκεντρωθεί κοντά στο κάστρο για να τους θαυμάσει.
Η έκπληξη
της βραδιάς που όλοι περίμεναν ήταν η επίσκεψη στο οινοποιείο ΦΙΚΑΡΔΟΣ στη
Μεσόγη, την οποία ακολούθησε ένα πλουσιοπάροχο δείπνο με μουσική και χορό.
Τη Κυριακή
60 ωραιότατα αυτοκίνητα μιας άλλης εποχής κατέληξαν εν πομπή στο χώρο
στάθμευσης του Εναέριου στη Λεμεσό όπου πλήθος κόσμου τους περίμενε να
τους προϋπαντήσει.
Υπήρχαν
έπαθλα για το φιλανθρωπικό, για το αγωνιστικό ως επίσης και το έπαθλο του
ΕΥ ΑΓΩΝΙΖΕΣΘΑΙ.

The 9th
48-HR Cyprus Rally ended with great success on Sunday 10th of
April.
The Rally
was first organized by the Mercedes-Benz Club Cyprus
and has been taken under the auspices of the Cyprus Federation of Classic
Vehicles
two years later. It is now organised every year in spring
in
cooperation with the Bank of Cyprus in aid of the Cyprus Anticancer
Society.
The
Start
of
the
rally
took place on
Friday the 8th of April
from
the main offices of the
Bank
of
Cyprus in Nicosia
at 15:30hrs. The Mayor, Mr. Savvas Eliophotou set off 60 competitors on
their way to the south eastern seaside resort of
Protaras
where they spent the night.
Saturday’s route took competitors to Larnaca for a coffee and to the
Kolossi Castle outside Limassol for lunch. The end of the second day’s
route was at the picturesque harbour of Paphos near the medieval castle.
The
promised surprise of the evening was a bus visit to the Fikardos winery
near Paphos where all had the opportunity to taste the different wines
followed by a lovely dinner with music and dance there.
The end
of the rally and the prize giving ceremony took place at the Enaerios
Parking place in Limassol on Sunday, where people had the opportunity to
admire the 60 beautiful classic cars that had participated in this 3-day
competitive event.
Prizes
were given for the charity and the competitive part of the rally as well
as the FAIR PLAY AWARD.
